Sign in with Google to generate study notes. When you click Generate, PanoLearn sends your selected transcript text, lecture titles and intermediate notes through its Cloudflare-hosted service to OpenAI. The publisher supplies the OpenAI API key and pays the API usage costs. Per-user and service-wide usage limits apply.
PanoLearn reads candidate transcript responses and loaded captions on supported pages to offer transcript selection, source previews and study notes. Captures are held in the page's memory. This does not upload the lecture to the service or OpenAI until you request generation. PanoLearn does not record audio or video.
Generation may involve several OpenAI requests for evidence extraction, source processing, time-range recovery and writing. Transcript text, selected lecture titles and generated intermediate notes may be sent in those requests. Your identity token is sent over HTTPS to the PanoLearn service to verify access. The service uses its server-side API key to authorize OpenAI requests; this key is not supplied to the extension. The extension does not intentionally send your Canvas/Panopto password, login cookies or unrelated browsing history to OpenAI.
Source page URLs are used locally to identify saved lectures and create video time links. URLs or personal details contained inside a transcript or lecture title can also be included in the source text sent for generation.
Lectures you explicitly save use Chrome’s local extension storage, not Chrome Sync. Your sign-in token and email use Chrome session storage restricted to trusted extension pages. They are removed on sign-out or when the browser session ends; expired tokens require signing in again. The service does not retain lecture text or generated notes in its application database and has application observability disabled. Cloudflare still processes network traffic under its own policies.
Requests use OpenAI's API with store: false. This setting is not a promise of zero retention or zero logging by OpenAI. OpenAI's own terms, account configuration and data policies govern its processing. See OpenAI API data controls and OpenAI's privacy policy.
Google handles authentication and Cloudflare hosts the PanoLearn service. See Google’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. These providers have their own processing and retention practices.
PanoLearn uses and transfers user data only to provide its disclosed study-note features. The extension does not sell user data, use it for personalized advertising, or include analytics or tracking SDKs. Its use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can inspect the captured transcript, select a different track, paste source text, remove saved lectures or sign out, or choose not to generate. Only submit content you are authorized to share with PanoLearn, Cloudflare and OpenAI. Generated notes and timestamps may contain errors; verify important details against the lecture.
For support or privacy questions, use the publisher contact information on PanoLearn's Chrome Web Store listing. This policy may be updated with the extension's data practices. Material changes will be disclosed in the extension or store listing as appropriate.
